Photostory (Mass Comm Task)

Ini adalah tugas mengenai photostory dimana saya mengambil beberapa foto kemudian saya rangkai sedemikian rupa sehingga menjadi sebuah short video. Untuk tema photostory saya ini, saya mengangkat topik mengenai "Transjakarta Busway". Short Video saya ini saya buat sekitar bulan Januari 2008.

English Essay (English Communication Task)

A good country depends on its society. To get a great society, every country must concern about their Educational System. Educational system becomes the basic foundation to build a great society. So Educational System is become one of the most important aspects in every country. But, Indonesia still didn’t take a good concern of their Educational System. Therefore, in order to improve the quality of Indonesia Educational System we need to improve the components of Educational Systems itself. The components could be from the human resources, facility, and government. Those components are related to the quality of educational system in Indonesia.

Human resources are the most important components in order improve the quality of educational system. Headmaster and teacher are the human resources itself. Headmaster must be able to create a good rule for students. Good rule doesn’t always mean a strict rule; a good rule is a rule that can be applied in any situation that can bring any benefit for any parties. Teacher is as important as the headmaster. Every teacher must be able to teach their students by using a good and efficient teaching method. They must be able to apply the theory that they teach into practices. The headmaster and teacher have their own role, but their roles have a same objective, which is to generate excellent students. As they grew up and face the real world, the students can bring positive effects to others.

Another important component to improve the quality of Educational System is facility. In the world of education, facilities are very important to support the education activities. For example, sport facility; this facility must be provided in every school, such as badminton court, basket court, etc. The courts will be used when the students have their physical education (P.E) subject in school and it can also be used improve the skills of those who has got talents in sports. There is also another facility that the school must provide, which is information & technology (IT) facility. The facilities are such as a computer lab, audio visual room, or free internet access. These are the most important facilities that need to be provided in every school nowadays, but it costs too much for the schools that don’t have enough money to afford it. These facility components must be highly concerned in every school, because there are many schools in Indonesia who are not capable to facilitate their students with these sorts of things. It causes them to merely know the theories, but not the practices; which is more crucial rather than the theories itself.

The last crucial things that related to the components that need to be improved are the government factor. As we know, the effect of government power to Indonesia Educational System was very big. Government in Indonesia is likely to change the education curriculum. It will make the student in Indonesia feel confused, because the curriculum always changes, depend on who becomes the Minister of Education. This kind of action must be change, because it will make the education program in Indonesia unstable.

Education System is very important, especially in Indonesia. Indonesia needs a good quality of education in order to repair the quality of the Indonesia Society. In order to do that, the Indonesian people need to work with the government, especially the minister of education and the school itself to create a good quality of education system in Indonesia by doing some evaluation.

Christ and Culture (Religion Task)

Menurut H.Richard Neiburh dalam bukunya yang berjudul “Christ and Culture” tipologi mengenai Kristus dan kebudayaan dibagi menjadi 5 yaitu; tipe antagonis (Oposisi/Radikal, Christ Against Culture), tipe akomodatif (The Christ of Culture), tipe sintetik (Christ above culture), tipe dualis (Christ and culture in paradox), tipe tranformatif (Christ The Transformer of Culture).

1. Christ Against Culture

Dalam topik mengenai Kristus melawan kebudayaan ini lebih identik dengan kaum radikal, dimana kaum ini menganggap semua yang di luar Kristus atau kekristenan itu adalah salah (bisa dibilang menolak semua hal yang di luar Kristus) termasuk di dalamnnya adalah kebudayaan. Kaum ini menganggap dirinya adalah komunitas yang suci dimana mereka menganggap dunia adalah sesuatu yang jahat dan harus ditolak maupun dihindari.

Contoh:

· Orang Kristen tidak boleh percaya dengan budaya China misalnya Feng Shui

· Orang Kristen tidak boleh percaya dengan penyembahan terhadap patung-patung yang konon bisa membawa berkat atau hoki

2. Christ of Culture

Christ of Culture adalah sebuah teori dimana Kekristenan atau Kristus berjalan dengan kebudayaan. Teori ini tidak menolak kebudayaan, melainkan menggunakan kebudayaan yang ada di dunia ini dan memasukan atau menggunakan unsur Kristus atau Kekristenan di dalam kebudayaan tersebut.

Contoh:

· Menggunakan musik dalam dunia Kekristenan ( adanya musik-musik Pop Rohani dan lain-lain)

· Masuknya kebudayaan China dalam Gereja ( bahasa Mandarin), ada beberapa Gereja yang menggunakan bahasa Mandarin dalam khotbahnya

· Gereja ikut merayakan Valentine sebagai hari kasih sayang

3. Christ above Culture

Christ above culture adalah sebuah teori yang berusaha melengkapi teori Chrost of Culture, tapi tampaknya malah membuat sebuah keanehan. Teori ini hampir serupa dengan teori Christ of Culture yaitu Kristus atau Kekristenan berjalan bersama dengan kebudayaan. Namun bedanya, dalam teori ini Kristus tidak dimasukkan kedalam kebudayaan, dengan kata lain kita tetap percaya Kristus tapi tetap menjalankan budaya yang sudah ada.

Contoh:

· Orang Kristen yang ikut-ikut merayakan Hari Raya Cap Go Meh, namun tidak mengikuti upacara sembahyangnya karena kita tidak boleh berpaling ke Allah lain.

· Tiap minggu ke gereja tapi masih merayakan hari Raya Imlek

4. Christ and Culture in Paradox

Sebuah teori yang berpendapat bahwa Kristus dan Dunia punya kebudayaannya sendiri. Mereka tidak menentang satu sama lain melainkan berjalan bersamaan. Konsep ini membuat orang Kristen hidup di dalam dua dunia.

Contoh:

· Saat di Gereja sikap kita menjadi sopan, baik, santun. Taat. Tapi setelah di luar Gereja kita kembali ke kebudayaan kita. Misal, kembali ke kehidupan kita yang liar, penuh kebohongan, dll.

5. Christ Transform Culture

Sebuah teori yang menyatakan bahwa kebudayaan tidaklah salah, melainkan kebudayaan itu harus di rubah oleh Kristus atau Kekristenan. Dalam teori ini kita harus tahu mana yang harus dan mana yang tidak, mana yang mutlak dan mana yang relatif. Sesuatu yang harus dirubah maka harus dirubah. Kita harus peka ketika memasuki sebuah kebudayaan, tidak perlu merubah sebuah kebudayaan yang ada sepanjang budaya itu baik dan agung.

Contoh:

· Tuhan Yesus menegur keras budaya orang Yahudi yang begitu sombong, mereka tidak mau dekat bahkan berbicara dengan orang Samaria. Kebudayaan seperti inilah yang hendak dibongkar oleh Tuhan Yesus

Kekristenan percaya bahwa Allah sejati hanya satu sedangkan budaya percaya bahwa “allah“ itu banyak dimana kita boleh menyembah pada allah yang mana saja. Hal ini adalah hal yang mutlak untuk diubah dikarenakan berhubungan dengan konsep theology keagamaan.
